about

artemis

Founded at the University of Southern California in Fall 2016, Artemis is an intersectional creative community that develops a space for students at USC to explore and express intersectional feminism through creative work. We produce inclusive film, visual art, dance, theatre, music, digital media and more that center on the experiences of underrepresented communities.

We work directly with students to bring their creative projects to life and collaborate with the larger USC community to host monthly events to encourage underrepresented groups to tell their own stories. And as a community, we love to work with other students and organizations with a similar vision. Ultimately, we hope to empower students and inspire the conversations necessary to make social change.

WHAT WE DO

Every month, we create an opportunity for women in the arts to meet each other and learn more about the arts through our community events. Between workshops, screenings, protests, and panels, we strive to put on programming that everybody can enjoy and learn from.

Additionally, we aim to produce at least three creative projects a semester. Whether it's a short film, photo series, play, dance show, or immersive theater-- if it's creative and feminist, we want to help you. We accept pitches from the community twice a year to build an impressive and socially conscious slate.
